Understanding VAT and why you are charged:
European Union and UK
As of January 2015, EU regulations require companies to charge Value Added Tax (VAT) based on the customer's location rather than the company's location. This means that if you are purchasing from within the EU, VAT will be applied according to the rate set by your country.
VAT is a consumption tax applied to goods and services, impacting both individuals and businesses. However, businesses with a valid VAT number may be eligible for exemption.
For more details on VAT regulations for EU citizens purchasing electronically supplied services, you can refer to the European Commission’s official guidelines. These guidelines specify that VAT is charged based on the country where you reside or have a permanent address.
If you enter an EU country as your billing address during checkout, VAT will be automatically included in the total amount. This is also clearly indicated on our sales pages. Please ensure your VAT number is entered correctly without spaces to claim exemption.

UK VAT Regulations
Even though the UK is no longer part of the EU, VAT is still applicable for UK-based customers. UK tax legislation mandates that VAT must be charged on purchases. However, if you have a valid UK VAT ID, you can enter it at checkout to receive an exemption.
Country-Specific VAT and Sales Taxes
Australia (GST)
From July 1, 2020, Australia requires GST (Goods and Services Tax) to be applied to imported digital products and services.
Colombia (VAT)
All transactions in Colombia are subject to a 19% VAT charge.
Saudi Arabia (VAT)
A 15% VAT charge applies to all transactions in Saudi Arabia, effective since January 1, 2018.
Malaysia (VAT)
All purchases made in Malaysia will include an 8% VAT charge.
Canada (VAT)
Starting in May 2024, Canadian transactions are subject to sales tax. Canada has two types of sales taxes:
Provincial Sales Taxes (PST, RST, QST): Applied in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) / Harmonized Sales Tax (HST): A federal value-added tax that varies by province.
Sales Tax Rates:
PST: British Columbia (7%), Manitoba (7%), Quebec (9.975%), Saskatchewan (6%)
GST: 5% in multiple provinces
HST: 13% in Ontario, 15% in some eastern provinces
United States (Sales Tax)
Starting May 2024, sales tax will be applied to transactions in multiple U.S. states, including New York, Texas, Washington, and others.
VAT Exemption
If you have a valid VAT number, you may be eligible for a VAT exemption. Enter your VAT number during checkout, ensuring no spaces between letters and numbers (e.g., DE1234567). If entered correctly, the VAT will automatically be removed.
